About Troon St Meddans Golf Club

In early 1909, a group of 34 like-minded golfers came together and formed the Troon Municipal Golf League. They started competing in April and played throughout the year in a round-robin matchplay league. At the first Annual Business and Social meeting held in the clubhouse on December 29th, 1909, the members decided to continue their successful venture under the new name of Troon St Meddans Golf Club. The cumulative sweep, which was adopted, was paid out at the end of the year during the meeting. Undoubtedly, the primary driving force behind the establishment of St. Meddans was Mr. James C.
