Golf Courses in Ayrshire

Scotland

Ayrshire is Scotland's golf heartland. Royal Troon, Turnberry Ailsa and Old Prestwick — the birthplace of The Open Championship — sit within 20 miles of each other on the Firth of Clyde coast. Add in Western Gailes, Gailes Links, Barassie and a host of excellent inland clubs, and Ayrshire rivals anywhere in the world for the quality and quantity of links golf.

Beith Golf Club

Ayrshire

Welcome to our website and thank you for taking the time to visit it. The course is set in the hills above Beith, in North Ayrshire, and the Club dates back to 1896. From then until 1996 it was a 9 hole course, however in that year, the centenary, a new 9 holes were opened giving us 18 holes in line with the other clubs in the area. In 2018 because of the general downturn in golf, it was decided to revert to the old 9 holes to see if we can keep the club going on for the foreseeable future. We are pleased to announce that this was a successful move and the Club continues to flourish. For those wishing to play 18 holes, we have two tees for every hole giving a bit of variety on each tee shot. Please take the opportunity to come and play the course and enjoy the facility and scenery. Visit o

History of Irvine Ravenspark Golf Club Centenary 1907-2007 The Irvine & Fullarton Times reported on the 22nd February, 1907, that Irvine was a flutter with excitement at the prospect of a municipal golf course being provided for the growing popularity of the ancient game. Golf had been a popular sport in the Irvine area for more than 100 years. The Moor and the aptly named Golf-fields were popular locations amongst the keen golfers to practice their skills. Golf was banned for some time on the Moor due to damage to windows and danger to pupils of the newly built Academy (1801). At the Council meeting on the 12th April (1907), Provost Borland intimated that a golf course had been under consideration by the Recreation Committee Mr Tulloch of Gailes had been approached to make a feasibility s
