Linlithgow Golf Club
Our clubhouse is a welcome break from the rigours of the golf course. The locker room caters for all golfers needs with excellent changing and shower facilities to allow you to freshen up. We ask you to then relax in the Gena MacKinnon lounge before enjoying your meal in the recently decorated dining room. The Clubhouse is available to members for use for private functions (no ‘late-teen’ functions allowed unfortunately). During the playing season, mid-April to Mid-October, functions cannot commence until 7.30 pm in order to allow the golfers to enjoy their post-match refreshment in the lounge. Members cannot be excluded from the lounge but the majority will not be in attendance if a private function is being held.

The Bass Rock Golf Club is the original Artisan Section of North Berwick West Links. Founded in 1873 the club has a unique history in the town which is covered in Douglas Seaton’s excellent book, Bass Rock Golf Club: The First 125 Years. This book is out of print but the club has a few copies that can be borrowed. The club is limited by constitution to 125 members in two classes: The 10 FULL members have full playing rights the West links. The 115 DUAL memberships are from members of North Berwick and Tantallon Golf Clubs. In July of every year Bass Rock GC hosts The Esmond Trophy. This gent’s open is played over the West Links. An 18 hole qualifying medal is followed by a 32 player knock out for the Silver Trophy which is a scale model of Edinburgh Castle.

Comiston Ladies Golf Club is based at the Braid Hills Golf Courses. We play our Competitions over Braids No 1. Our season runs from April to September during which time a minimum of ten competitive qualifying rounds, medals and stablefords, are played on Fridays in a morning draw or arrange your own time in the afternoon and early evenings. We also hold hole and hole competitions, singles and foursomes and a Club Championship with a qualifier and then knock-out. Golf was first played on the East Links, North Berwick in the 17th century, although a nine hole course did not come into being until 1894. It was extended to 18 holes in 1906 with a design provided by five times Open Champion, James Braid and his design partner Ben Sayers. Suiting players of all abilities the course is challenging, but fair. It is 6,275 yards (Par 70) for men off the medal tees and a 5,773 yards (Par 73) for ladies. The Glen is an all year round course and is rarely closed due to inclement weather, playing normal greens and tees throughout the year.

The Club was instituted in 1889. When the Braid Hills Municipal Golf Course opened some years later, a small wooden hut was built on the present site of the club at the top of Braid Hills Approach. Over the years members have extended the Clubhouse to its present size, with a kitchen added in the past couple of years.

Lochend Golf Club is one of the oldest Golf Clubs in Scotland. We can trace our roots and heritage back to the mid 1700’s when golf was first played on Leith Links by the like of King Charles and for golf historians the likes of Thomas Kincaid who wrote the first instruction book on how to play golf. By the late 1800’s when golf became more popular many regular players at Leith Links decided to move on: some headed for the Braids where they formed Edinburgh Thistle, others headed down the coast to Muirfield to establish The Honourable Company of Edinburgh Golfers. However a group of local people remained faithful to Leith and continued to play on the Links from 1891 and formed Lochend Golf Club. The West Lothian Golf Club is a championship par 71 course situated between Bo’ness and Linlithgow in Central Scotland. Boasting stunning views of the Forth Valley from The Campsie Fells to the Forth Bridges the course is easily accessible from Glasgow (M9 Jct 4) and Edinburgh (M9 Jct 3) The club is proud to have hosted the PGA Young Professionals Championship on several occasions and in 2022 we were home to the Lothians Team Championship and a venue for the SGL Scottish Medal Final Regional Qualifier.
