Dubai built a golf scene from nothing and did it with typical ambition. The courses are manicured to tournament standard year-round, wrapped in luxury resorts, and several are floodlit so you can play a full round after dark to beat the heat.
This is target golf on lush green fairways framed by desert scrub, lakes and skyline. It is not cheap — Dubai is a premium destination — but the conditioning, service and guaranteed winter sunshine are hard to match. Neighbouring Abu Dhabi and Ras Al Khaimah add more world-class courses within a short drive.
Peak season is the northern-hemisphere winter, when the DP World Tour visits Jumeirah Golf Estates and the weather is perfect. Summer is brutally hot; locals play at dawn or under lights.

When to go
November to April is the season — warm, dry and the time of the big tournaments. Avoid June to September unless you only play at dawn or under floodlights.
Dress code & etiquette
Soft spikes and collared shirts are required at all clubs; tailored shorts are fine. Standards of presentation and service are high — book in advance and arrive early.
Night golf
Several Dubai courses (Dubai Creek, Al Badia, The Track Meydan) are fully floodlit. A twilight or night round is a genuinely different experience and beats the daytime heat.
